Meet Your Host: Meg Feeney
With over 25 years of teaching experience, my mission has remained the same: to uplift others and empower them with meaningful insights and tools to feel strong, capable, and inspired at every stage of life. Across the diverse modalities, settings and communities I’ve taught, I’ve remained committed to creating spaces where people feel welcome, safe, curious, and truly cared for—an experience I look forward to sharing with you throughout this retreat.
-
With a degree in Psychology and Education from McGill University, I began my career as a preschool teacher in an integrated school supporting children on the autism spectrum. Those beloved years shaped my ability to hold space and support the energy of a group while meeting individual needs and learning styles with care. They also instilled in me a deep appreciation for how anything—no matter how small—can be broken down in a teachable way, a principle that defines my foundational teaching style.
In 2012 my teaching path evolved into movement education where I’ve been fully immersed ever since. I began with Essentrics®, where I had the privilege of studying directly under its creator, Miranda Esmonde-White, an internationally recognized leader in healthy aging and exercise, New York Times bestselling author, and host of Classical Stretch on PBS. This formative experience shaped my understanding of the body and instilled a lasting respect for the power of intelligent, accessible, full-body movement
Over the 12 years with the company I went on to become a Master Trainer, global TV host on their streaming platform, and a key contributor to the instructor certification, in particular the Aging Backwards® curriculum—a science-backed approach to helping people stay mobile, strong, and pain-free as they age. I led thousands of group and private classes, facilitated dozens of teacher trainings and workshops across Canada and the U.S., contributed to health and pain studies, and participated in more than 15 international fitness retreats at renowned venues. Through this work, I gained experience with an exceptionally diverse range of individuals across all ages and stages of life—from those living with serious health conditions, to professional athletes, including the Montreal Canadiens. Best of all, my time with Essentrics connected me to a loyal, global community of friends, followers and fans, whose ongoing support I will forever treasure and who continue to inspire my work today.
After transitioning away from the company, I built a life in Costa Rica, deepening my personal movement practice while developing a greater appreciation of the body through multiple lenses. Learning from exceptional teachers across a range of modalities—including yoga, Pilates, breathwork, sound healing and strength training—marked a powerful and eye-opening period of growth. I went on to complete my Mat Pilates Instructor Training with Balanced Body®, which has immensely expanded the ways I can support others
Get a feel for how we’ll move during the retreat in the next section.
Today, I’m the strongest I’ve ever been and have a genuine appreciation for how different movement and mindfulness practices support people through different chapters of life. As an avid cyclist, swimmer, and someone who treasures her personal nature practices, I’m excited to share an experience that weaves together the things I love and consider as the core pillars of wellness I live by.
To top it off, I’m honoured to share this space with my co-host—and introduce you to one of my closest friends in the world—my sister. Get to meet Ali below. We can’t wait to create the most memorable, engaging, rewarding and FUN experience for you. Thanks for being part of it.
Designed & Aligned With Your Health Goals
Meg’s classes are expertly led and intentionally crafted to support the evolving, real needs of midlife and beyond. Each session safely improves overall strength, mobility, energy, and alignment, while supporting key areas of the body that benefit from focused attention, such as the spine, shoulders, hips, and knees. The overall goal is to shift attention from what feels limited to what is possible, empowering you with a mindset and practical techniques, tools and exercises that support your body towards moving with greater ease, strength, and awareness—so you can thrive in the freedom that comes from feeling good in your body.
-
The class style is rooted in Essentrics®, a dynamic stretching technique that gently rebalances the body while building strength through length. Through continuous, flowing movement, you’ll release tension from your joints, improve circulation, and restore healthy, hydrated fascia. This is thoughtfully complemented by Pilates, which brings intelligent focus to the breath, core, hips, and glutes, building deep, supportive strength and stability from within.
Together, the expansive, flowing sequences of Essentrics, and the deep, stabilizing strength of Pilates create a complementary practice in which each method enhances the other. This translates into improved posture, deeper breath, better balance, and greater ease, comfort, strength and confidence in everyday movement.
Everything is low-impact, controlled, and accessible. You’ll enjoy mindful breathing and moments of meditative stillness throughout the sessions, leaving you feeling peaceful, grounded, and calm.
-
Knowledge that moves you. In our Empowered Aging Workshop Series, we’ll take a fresh, practical look at three key areas of interest that become especially important as we age. These focal points will guide our exploration of healthy muscle and joint function, helping us better understand our bodies and how to support them through thoughtful exercises and an empowering mindset.
NEW THIS YEAR: Recorded Workshop Series. All retreat participants will gain ongoing access to recordings and movement sessions from Meg’s Empowered Aging Workshop Series. These resources will allow you to revisit key teachings in your own time, supporting your integration of the retreat experience and helping you continue building on your progress at home.
-
Many of our sessions—including two sunset practices—will take place on Predator Ridge’s flagship Lavender Platform, nestled in a 3.5-acre meadow overlooking sweeping views of the Okanagan Valley. We'll ground, expand and connect in meaningful ways with awe-inspiring nature as our guide.
-
Build confidence with weight training in this all-levels session led by a certified strength coach. As we know, strength training is one of the most effective ways to support bone health, maintain muscle mass, and improve balance and stability—key factors in preserving independence and confidence in everyday movement as we age.
This beginner-friendly session is designed to be both safe and supportive, giving you the foundation to weight train with confidence. You’ll learn effective techniques with personalized guidance to ensure proper form. For those with experience, you’ll receive expert cues and refinements to help you move more efficiently and get even more out of your practice. No matter where you’re at, you’ll leave with practical tools and knowledge to confidently begin—or continue—your strength training journey at home.
Supportive & Inclusive
New to Essentrics,® Pilates, or group movement? You’re warmly welcomed. If you haven’t tried these techniques—or attended a retreat like this before—you’re in the right place. Meg is highly skilled at guiding all levels in a shared space and offering thoughtful support for every individual. If you’d like a more personal introduction, you’re invited to book a Discovery Call or reach out via email.

A Heartfelt Thank You to our 2025 Retreat Participants
Meet Your Co-Host: Ali Feeney
I’m excited to make sure every aspect of this retreat embodies the essence of aging with vitality, purpose, and joy. My goal is for each participant to leave inspired, supported, and more connected to the incredible journey ahead—and, of course, to have a whole lot of fun along the way!

From an early age, I discovered my love for event planning while helping my mom bring her beautifully themed birthday parties and family celebrations to life. That passion has only grown over the years. With over two decades of event planning experience—largely in the academic and not-for-profit sectors—I’m most passionate about crafting experiences that are not only beautiful but deeply meaningful.
After living out west for ten years, I fell in love with the Okanagan Valley—its stunning lakes, warm summer days, and breathtaking wineries. It has become a cherished summer destination for my family. It’s our happy place, full of sunshine, connection, and unforgettable memories.
Creating this fitness and wellness retreat at Predator Ridge with my sister has been a true full-circle moment. After hosting our first retreat last year, what I didn’t fully anticipate was just how meaningful the experience would be—the connections formed, the energy of the group, and the sense of vitality and joy that carried through each day. It left a lasting impact on me, and I’m incredibly excited, and grateful, to bring it to life again this year in one of the most beautiful places I know.
Meg and I thought of every detail to make this retreat feel effortless, restorative, and full of joy. All you have to do is show up—we'll take care of the rest. I can’t wait to meet you and share this unforgettable experience together!
